Tom Cricchi, CEO of SyCom Technologies, was very familiar with The Fahrenheit Group and its breadth of services, and he had a close relationship with the Fahrenheit team for many years. As his firm grew and expanded its geographic footprint, Tom recognized and acknowledged the need to review the structure of the executive team, specifically the finance organization, and SyCom’s ability to establish best practices for scalability and further growth.

Despite Tom’s best intentions to bring Fahrenheit in, it wasn’t until the current CFO left for personal reasons that Tom reached out to Doug Jones, one of Fahrenheit’s Managing Directors. Doug was unable to step in, but the depth of the Fahrenheit team allowed the firm to parachute in another extremely experienced Fahrenheit Advisor, John Schmohl, to assist in the engagement.

Stepping into a challenging environment, John Schmohl, exemplified the deep experience of the team at Fahrenheit—been there, done that—and the ability to hit the ground running.   John knew the right questions to ask and after a quick knowledge transfer took charge of the finance organization. He subsequently not only served in an interim capacity but has assessed the financial organization and recommended and implemented new processes and controls to lay the foundation for further growth.

 

Even with a strong culture and an engaged workforce, SyCom benefited from Fahrenheit’s executive level of insight in identifying the need for a review of HR best practices. John called on the FahrenheitHR team and worked with them to outline and prioritize HR projects such as organizational development, training and fractional HR leadership that will assist SyCom as the firm continues its growth with its emphasis on its people.
