Jan tenPas III

Managing Director

Jan tenPas III, Managing Director of Finance with The Fahrenheit Group’s Richmond office, is a trusted advisor and results-oriented executive with more than 30 years’ experience in accounting, finance, information technology, human resources, manufacturing, operations, sales, and distribution at public and private companies. He has successfully led organizations in several industries through turnaround opportunities, crisis management, significant growth, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures while developing and driving business strategies, team building initiatives, and cash management strategies.

He successfully uses a collaborative, team building and coaching approach to affect positive changes in organizations and people. His primary goal is to instill a “constant and never-ending improvement” culture in the organizations with which he is privileged to work.

Upon graduating from Liberty University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Jan:

  • Served as an Internal Auditor for Central Fidelity Bank.
  • Served as a Management Accountant for the First National Bank of Louisville.
  • Served in progressively responsible roles as an Accounting Manager and Controller for Copy Van/Copy Systems, a privately-owned regional office products and services company in the mid-Atlantic region. Successfully executed an acquisition of the company by a private equity firm.
  • Served in progressively responsible roles as Assistant Controller, Controller, Plant Manager, and Vice-President/General Manager for Richfood Inc./Supervalu, publicly-held Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies, respectively. Successfully executed significant growth through many acquisitions, product development, and other business development initiatives.
  • Served in progressively responsible roles as Director of Finance/Operations and Chief Financial Officer for Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association, Inc., a $1+ billion (sales) dairy cooperative. Successfully executed a significant acquisition and the divestiture of underperforming business segments and assets.
